Leading Figures

It is remarkable how many talents were fostered during the period 1800-1850, and not least how many names are still familiar today.

Copenhagen at that time was a relatively small city of about 100,000 inhabitants. Consequently, many of the outstanding figures of the time knew and inspired each other.
